Whats the First thing people see when they check out the humor side of the Viable Hiatus. They see the top bar. I've alwasy wanted the top bar to be something out of the ordinary so I've gone out of my way to create strange images for it. Here is the history of The Viable Hiatus Topbar.

The first Viable Hiatus top bar wasn't even a topbar it was a side bar. This is the first image to ever bare the name Viable Hiatus. As you can see the website started in August 2001. Not sure what i was going for here. This skeleton lives in a locker at Southeastern Illinois College Art Department. Oddly this is probably the worst title bar I ever had, yet it stayed up the longest.

The Caviar topbar was the first actual topbar, but it didn't have the Viable Hiatus logo on it. This image was on the site for a long time.

The peace sign topbar didn't see much use, I originally made it as an advertisement banner then used it shortly for a topbar. It pretty much sucks.

Thought I would clean up the logo for what I like to call the VH logo. I was thinking how some publications get to go by their Initials. Unfortanitly The VH never caught on.

I call this one the word logo. It was probably my favorite one. I was trying to go for an art house, kind of punk wisdom sort of look here. I think this oen was real popular because for a long time several people were using it on various message boards.

This is the doodle bar logo. Not really one of my favorites, but I like some of the little pictures. True to form I didn't spend much time on this, just set down one day drew some doodles then scanned it.

I call this one the Mario bar logo. My second favorite. Really tried hard to make the colors match up on this, but they don't. I did a major overhaul on the site in 2003 so I thought Super Viable Hiatus was approprate.

I call this one the Axebar. The story on this was I had just used the axe I made to chop down a tree. I was so excited that it actually worked I commemorated the event by making it a Topbar.

Well as of now this is the latest Topbar and I call this one, the Bushbar. I made this in the months before the 04 election when I was really hoping Bush wouldn't get a second term. Graphically probably one of my best.
